Considering the valuable role friends play in our life, it was deemed to fit to have a day dedicated to friends and friendship. There are too many stories behind the celebration of friendship day, though there is no fixed reason found till now. Still following points helps to elaborate the importance of Friendship Day:

• Following the popularity and success of Friendship Day in U.S.A, US Congress declared the first Sunday of August as Friendship Day in 1935 and eventually celebrated each year.
• In 1997, Winnie – the Pooh were named as the world’s Ambassador of Friendship.
• One can feel the true friendship in the old testimonial of the bible, where Abraham is referred as a friend of God. One can feel the true friendship with the real emotions between Lord Krishna and Sudama.

Friendship Day is celebrated in the honour of all the friends we have made over the years and without whom life wouldn’t have been quite the same. For the uninitiated, Friendship day is around the corner and that is what is making us sentimental! This year, Friendship Day will be celebrated on the 4th of August.

Though there is no fixed rule on how to celebrate the friendship day, yet people have too many ideas to celebrate this in creative way. It includes – sending messages and giving warm wishes through greeting cards, exchanging gifts, organizing a get-together party, giving surprise visits, tagging them with the special notes and expressing how much they matter in your life, cutting cakes, gifting friendship day bands, etc.

It doesn’t matter how many fights you had or how many heartbreaks you have caused to each other…it just doesn’t matter. A true friend never judges. They are just always there whenever they need help of each other without even asking. That’s the beauty of Friendship.

That is why a day to celebrate friendship is just appropriate.
